Welsh distiller Balvenie celebrates American white oak, European oak, along with roles for cherry and elm, in its barrel making operation, essential for its Scotch whiskey making. The private firm also documents work by U.S. wood crafters in several cities, including furniture builder Danny Kamerath in Dallas. His Debbi cabinet is primarily made from wenge and African mahogany with a drawer and cabinet doors made from various other domestic and exotic hardwoods.
