Daniel Czapiewski, a designer, built this crazy upside-down home in Syzmbark, Poland. It is partly his commentary on the pitfalls of communism and the topsy-turvy state of humanity and the precarious positions we often find ourselves in. Also, considering the ravages of the Great Recession, with many homeowners now underwater, it can also be taken as a figurative depiction of what's been going on in the housing market lately. (I'm waiting on the next savvy designer to develop an underwater estate in say Lake Michigan to illustrate this point.)

Reportedly, this upside-down house has furniture hanging from the ceiling (the floor), and workers had to take many breaks while building the project because they became confused and disoriented.
