Closet Designers: Sick of Social Media Yet?Much like the endless bologna sandwiches you may have eaten during your “lean” years, perhaps you’ve had your fill.

I mean, really, you’ve got business to do. Things to install. Accounts to balance.

Who has time to connect with people and share insights and project info and “fun-tivities”?

I do.

And so do 92% of marketers, according to the just released 2014 Social Media Marketing Industry Report by Social Media Examiner, who feel that social media is “very important” to their business success. The top 2 benefits are increased exposure and increased traffic to their sites, followed closely by develop loyal fans and provide marketplace insight.

And as a business person, by default, you’re also a business marketer.

So what tactics prove most effective?

Facebook usage is declining, You Tube usage is up and Google+ is on most people’s radar screens to learn more about.

Marketers plan on increasing their use of blogging (68%), YouTube (67%), Twitter (67%),

LinkedIn (64%) and Facebook (64%), in that order

How much time is spent on social media?

34% of businesses spend 1 - 5 hours per week

27% of businesses spend 6 - 10 hours per week.

By spending as little as 6 hours per week, 66%+ of marketers see lead generation benefits with social media.

Nearly half of those who spend at least 6 hours per week on social media efforts saw a benefit of reduced marketing expenses.

At least 57% of businesses with 10 or fewer employees agreed social media reduced marketing expenses, while only 40% of businesses with 1000 or more employees agreed.
