CMA Partners for 2012 Custom Cabinet ConferenceThe Cabinet Makers Association and Custom Woodworking Business will partner next February for two days of executive-level education programs for owners and managers of custom woodworking and cabinet companies.

The 3rd Annual Custom Cabinet Conference will be held during Closets  Expo, Feb. 15-17, 2012 in Austin, TX. Both events are sponsored by Vance Publishing, publisher of Custom Woodworking Business and CLOSETS magazines.

The Cabinet Makers Association also partnered with Vance for the 2011 Woodworking & Machinery Supply Expo, held in Toronto Oct. 27-29. Executive director Dave Gulke (picture) delivered daily seminars on marketing and management for woodworkers.

The 2012 Custom Cabinet Conference will feature a carefully selected mix of business, marketing and technology topics. CMA will offer attendees an opportunity to earn CMA certification credits. A pilot of the CMA’s certification program was held at the 2011 Custom Cabinet Conference in Charlotte; and rolled out at the AWFS Fair in Vegas July 20-23 and at WMS in Toronto.

“The CMA is committed to education and intent on helping woodworking executives develop their business skills,” says Dave Grulke, CMA executive director. “We were pleased with the reception our certification program met with in Charlotte and look forward to the potential of offering our first live testing certification program in Austin.”

Joe Knobbe, CMA president, says “The conference will focus on tried-and-proven ideas that cabinet and custom woodwork executives can take back to their shops to do a better job of pricing projects, finding new business or reducing their production costs.”
