Tours of Fabritec and dynamic office furniture manufacturer, Groupe Lacasse, kick off the first day of the Canadian Kitchen Cabinet Association's fall event

SHERBROOKE, QC -- Tours of the highly automated kitchen cabinet manufacturer, Fabritec and dynamic office furniture manufacturer, Groupe Lacasse, kick off the first day of the Canadian Kitchen Cabinet Association's fall event, September 24-25 at the Delta Hotels by Marriott in Sherbrooke.  Fabritec produces 268 kitchens per day with a dedicated workforce of over 700 employees and is one of the most automated factories in North America.
Groupe Lacasse is a North American leader in the design, manufacture and service of a broad range of high-quality furniture solutions for all types of business and institutional environments. Headquartered in Saint-Pie, Québec the company employs over 525 members.

Day 2 of the CKCA event features a breakfast presentation by Eric Prothier, Director of Business Development of Richelieu on Smart Living, Multi-functional Spaces.  Prothier will discuss  "micro-projects,"  a growing trend, no longer the exclusive domain of high-density cities like New York. Very few kitchen manufacturers are ready to compete in this space.  Prothier will cover what is trending in "micro-living." According to Protheir, micro projects are popping up in university towns, cities large and small across North America. Critical to the success of these projects is a change of design and considerably more functionality than traditional spaces.

Additional tours planned for September 25 include Interfonction, following the trend of more metals used in kitchen cabinetry, attendees will visit this manufacturer to see how custom-made aluminum and glass doors are produced . Finally the group will tour Champeau, a supplier of a large variety of hardwood components and rough lumber. With over 200,000 square feet of space they use cutting-edge technology to optimize the potential of every tree harvested and are FSC certified.
