I’ve read a number of things about the cause of veneer checking, but how do you repair it if the veneer adhesion seems tight but the checks are visible in hairlines with the grain? These photos are from a vintage Grandfather clock and is the top layer of cabinet grade plywood. I just bought it and it was imported- probably Asian. My guess is 1980s manufacturing.
