VIKEN, Sweden. - Valinge Innovation has announced that it has recently signed long-term agreements with both Swiss Krono and Kronospan groups in a commitment to promote the company’s 5G technology worldwide.

Both groups have been Valinge licensees since 2005 and, already with significant 5G volumes in the market, have committed to more actively promote Valinge’s technology and brand worldwide through their extended agreements.

"Both Swiss Krono and Kronospan have been early adopters of the 5G technology," said Niclas Håkansson, Valinge CEO. "We are pleased to have signed long-term agreements with Swiss Krono and Kronospan groups respectively and see them as valuable partners with the ability to drive forward the most user-friendly locking system on even more markets."

Promoted by installers, distributors, and consumers as the best alternative for fold-down installation of laminate, wood, and resilient floorings, the 5G technology is used by more than 100 flooring producers around the world. More than 15 billion sqft in flooring have already been installed worldwide with 5G/fold down locking systems.

"We consider Valinge’s 5G technology as one of the most sought-after locking systems in the market and therefore plan to increase our volumes," said Max von Tippelskirch, CSCO of Swiss Krono Group. "With this strategic long-term cooperation with Valinge, we will continue to offer high-quality products to our customers, both from a technical and design perspective."

Valinge Innovation AB is a research and development (R&D) and IP company in the flooring and furniture industry. In 1994, Valinge pioneered the concept of glueless flooring assembled by mechanical locking and has since continued to introduce new locking systems to the market. With more than 115 employees, the company has 1,800 granted patents within locking systems and surface technologies, a license base of more than 220 licensees, and an advanced R&D center for floorings in Viken, Sweden.
