Saint-Laurent, Québec – Stella-Jones Inc. has entered into a definitive agreement to purchase substantially all of the assets employed in the wood utility pole manufacturing business of Texas Electric Cooperatives Inc. for a total purchase price of $28 million plus inventories of approximately $4 million.

Bell Lumber & Pole Company has acquired the assets of The Oeser Company, a utility pole manufacturer and supplier located in Bellingham, Wash. The transaction enables Bell to further establish itself as a leading supplier of utility poles in North America, advancing Bell's presence in the Pacific Northwest, the company said.

The sale of Koppers' pole facility is the latest in acquisition and sell-off activity. Since 2014, the company has made six acquisitions, three divestitures, and sold or closed 15 facilities across its global footprint.

Montreal – Stella-Jones Inc. has entered into an agreement to purchase Cahaba Pressure Treated Forest Products Inc. for $66 million, including $8 million in working capital.
