Degenfelder is taking over from Tom Johel, who will be transitioning to retirement.

Johel began his career with U-C Coatings as a sales representative in 1987.

U-C Coatings has completed its acquisition of Contechem. Both companies provide complementary products for protecting freshly cut lumber and logs. Contechem manufactures anti-stain and mold inhibitor products under the Britewood brand. U-C Coatings produces wood protection products, including Anchorseal, Bates, B.O.S.S. (Bright Orange Sample Sealer), Gempaint, LogDawg and Shade-Dri brands.

U-C Coatings, LLC has hired Warren Endlich as a regional sales representative and has opened a new warehouse thus expanding its operations in the Pacific Northwest.

U∙C Coatings' new Bates products act as a barrier against glue buildup, creating a transparent film which keeps glue, wood resin and paint from bonding with metal surfaces.

U∙C Coatings will present its line of Bates products for the furniture manufacturing industry at IWF 2014 including Glue Release products.

Sidereal Capital Group and Argosy Private Equity acquired U∙C Coatings Corporation, a wood products coating firm based in Buffalo, NY.
