NEUMARKT, GERMANY -- Pfleiderer, parent company of Pergo laminate flooring and Uniboard, reported that its quarterly sales rose by 7.3% to $484.8 million from the first to the second quarter.

Uniboard, a manufacturer of engineered wood products, announced that its Sayabec, QUE, manufacturing facility has been certified by the Composite Panel Association (CPA) as meeting California Air Resources Board (CARB) Phase 2 formaldehyde emissions standards.

Pfleiderer AG generated first-quarter revenue of 355.6 million euros ($452.8 million), less than 1% below the 358.0 million euros ($455.8 million) it closed at in the prior-year period.

LAVAL, QUE - Uniboard, a North American manufacturer of engineered wood products, announced that its new Moncure, NC, MDF facility has been certified to meet CARB Phase 1 emission standards.

NEUMARKT, GERMANY – Pfleiderer AG reported an approximately $93.2 million loss in 2009 compared to a $7.8 million profit in 2008. The company’s revenues declined by 20.4% from approximately $2.35 billion in 2008 to $1.87 billion in 2009. The company said the loss was sustained “despite successful structural adjustments and cost savings of approximately 100 million euros ($135.2 million), earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization fell significantly.”

LAVAL, QUE – Uniboard announced the appointment of Tom Ruedy to the position of director, business development MDF/HDF – Moncure.

Pfleiderer AG, owner of Pergo, Uniboard and other wood products divisions, announced it has reached agreement with approximately 30 banks on the conditions of long-term corporate financing totaling approximately $850 million.
