A wrongful death lawsuit filed against the American Home Furnishings Alliance (AHFA), a trade group of furniture makers and importers, has been officially dismissed.
COMMERCE, Calif. - Residential furniture supplier Joybird has recalled 100 Blythe dressers that the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said pose tip-over and entrapment hazards to children if not anchored properly to the wall. The imported dressers were sold online at Joybird.com from October 2017 through July 2019 for about $1,700.
WEST CONSHOHOCKEN, Penn. – Revisions to the voluntary furniture stability standard for clothing storage units are expected to be published this month, according to information from the American Home Furnishings Alliance. The revision to ASTM F2057 expands the scope of the standard to clothing storage furniture 27 inches and taller, as opposed to 30 inches and higher previously, and incorporates two new warning labels.
The American Home Furnishings Alliance has filed a motion to dismiss a wrongful death suit brought against the furniture association, saying it has no liability in the tip-over related death of a Florida toddler.
