The annual SkillsUSA National Leadership and Skills Conference is the most anticipated event for students of high school and postsecondary career and technical education programs across the nation. Loaded with pageantry and energy, the nearly week-long event is often likened to the Olympics of CTE, with Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals being awarded to the top finishers.
Organizers of SkillsUSA and Skills Canada are working out details for holding their respective national student competitions virtually this June.
Staff and industry volunteers from the Association of Woodworking & Furnishings Suppliers (AWFS) assisted as contest coordinators, judges, and with overall contest support.
The contestants had less than eight hours to complete a side table designed by Patrick Molzahn of Madison College.
All gold medal champions are qualified to compete in the SkillsUSA National competition held in Louisville Kentucky, June 24-26.
