Organizers of SkillsUSA and Skills Canada are working out details for holding their respective national student competitions virtually this June.
Staff and industry volunteers from the Association of Woodworking & Furnishings Suppliers (AWFS) assisted as contest coordinators, judges, and with overall contest support.
The contestants had less than eight hours to complete a side table designed by Patrick Molzahn of Madison College.
All gold medal champions are qualified to compete in the SkillsUSA National competition held in Louisville Kentucky, June 24-26.

Royal Plywood, Blum, Colonial Saw/Lamello, Hafele, ESI, Decore-ative Specialties, Grex Tools, and West Wood Products donated nearly $10,000 in supplies, tools, and giveaways for students at the 2017 SkillsUSA California State Cabinetmaking and Introductory Woodworking contest Championships, held Saturday, April 22 at the Town & Country Resort and Convention Center in San Diego.
High school and college/post-secondary students from all over the state took part in the annual Wisconsin Skills USA cabinetry competition at the Alliant Center in Madison.

Royal Plywood, Blum, Inc. and other generous companies showed their support for students in woodworking by contributing over $7,000 in tools, material, supplies and gifts to the 2014 SkillsUSA California Region 3 (Los Angeles) and California State woodworking contests, held February 1 and April 26, respectively.
Delcam has donated over 1,000 Delcam University courses, with a total value close to $300,000, to the SkillsUSA partnership of students, teachers and industry representatives who are working together to ensure that America has a skilled workforce.
