NAHB Chairman Calls for Senate to Pass Small Business Lending Law Amendment

September 28, 2010 - Bob Jones, chairman of the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) and a home builder from Bloomfield Hills, Mich., today called on the Senate to move immediately to pass legislation approved by the House that would allow construction loans to be eligible for the new small business lending fund signed into law earlier this week.

Housing starts rise 10.5 percent in August; builders struggle for financing

Nationwide total housing starts rose 10.5 percent to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 598,000 units in August, bringing the pace of production more in line with the level of construction activity before the popular home buyer tax credit temporarily stimulated housing sales earlier this year, according to U.S. Commerce Department figures released today.

Trade groups sue EPA over lead paint rule
