NAHB Remodelers Applauds Inhofe Bill to Improve Lead Paint Rule

The National Association of Home Builders Remodelers commended Sen. James Inhofe (R-Okla.) for introducing the Lead Exposure Reduction Amendments Act of 2012 (S. 2148) to improve the lead paint rule for home owners and remodelers who must comply with the costly work practices and record keeping requirements of the rule.

Window World of St. Louis to Pay $19,529 Penalty

Window World of St. Louis, Inc., has agreed to pay a $19,529 civil penalty to the United States to settle allegations that it failed to notify owners and occupants of at least 20 St. Louis area residential properties built before 1978 of lead-based paint risks prior to performing renovation work at those locations.

NAHB to sue EPA over lead paint regulations

WASHINGTON, July 8--A coalition of housing industry groups joined the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) today in announcing plans to file a lawsuit against the federal Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for removing the "opt-out" provision from its Lead: Renovation, Repair and Painting rule.
