Following a few months of moderating prices last spring and summer, lumber prices are soaring once again, disrupting the housing market and harming housing affordability.
The number of improving housing markets continued to expand for a fourth consecutive month in December, rising from 30 to 41 on the NAHB/ First American Improving Markets Index. Nine smaller markets dropped from the list, primarily because of softer home prices.
