TROUTMAN, N.C. - More than 140 woodworking professionals were on hand to mark the opening of C.R. Onsrud's new 55,000-square-foot fabrication center and kick off the technology provider's Expo2018 event. The technology expo took place Feb. 28 at the company's facility in Troutman, North Carolina. Highlights of the day-long event included machinery demonstrations, trends and information, networking opportunities and a tour of the company's entire campus, including the new fabrication center.

Canadian lumber giant Canfor Corp. has announced plans to build a $120 million (USD), state-of-the-art sawmill in Washington, Georgia.

Georgia-Pacific announced it will build a 340,000-square-foot softwood lumber mill in Warrenton, Georgia. Construction of the $135 million technologically advanced facility is scheduled to begin this summer.

England Furniture will invest $31 million to expand its New Tazewell, Tennessee, residential furniture operation, creating 202 jobs.

CHATHAM, Va. – Custom plywood manufacturer Eastern Panel Manufacturing Inc. has announced plans to invest $1 million to expand its manufacturing operation in Chatham, Virginia. The company will move into a nearby 55,000-square-foot facility and add 15 jobs.

PITTSFIELD, Mass. - Interprint USA has announced the purchase of an $10 million printing press to support its rapidly growing décor film business.  

FISHERSVILLE, Va. - Blue Ridge Lumber announced plans recently to invest nearly $2.7 million and increase its hardwood exports. Along with the expanding production at the Essex County lumberyard, the company plans to add 17 jobs.

MONAGHAN, Ireland - Material handling provider CombiLift will host a grand opening for its new 500,000-square-foot manufacturing facility this spring. The company said it has invested more than $55.4 million in the new factory in Ireland.

NASHVILLE – Cabinetry and flooring provider Cabinets To Go announced plans to expand flooring operations at its Lawrenceburg, Tennessee facility. The $6.5 million investment is expected to create 70 new jobs. The company said funds will be used for equipment to manufacture its new brand of engineered hardwood flooring, Robusto Floors. In addition to flooring, Cabinets To Go recently added countertops and installation services to its kitchen and bath cabinetry offerings.

Georgia-Pacific said it will begin construction immediately on a $100 million lumber production facility in Talladega, Alabama. The plant is scheduled for startup in late 2018.
