After six children were killed by falling furniture in the U.S. – three of which took place in the last two years – IKEA is recalling over six million dressers in Canada.
IKEA recalled 29 million Malm and other dressers and chests after a third tip-over incident. In February 2016, a 22-month-old child was entrapped and died. IKEA is moving beyond a repair kit remediation program launched in 2015. It covers furniture made between January 2002 and June 2016.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced today that Cinmar LLC, of West Chester, Ohio, has agreed to pay a $3.1 million civil penalty. The penalty agreement has been accepted provisionally by the Commission in a 3-0 vote.
