LANCASTER, PA — Armstrong World Industries Inc. reported first quarter 2010 net sales of $658.9 million, down 1%, from $668.3 million in the same period for 2009. Excluding a $19 million, or 3%, impact of foreign exchange rates, sales decreased 4%. Reported operating income was $13.4 million compared to $1.1 million in the first quarter of 2009.
