U.S. cabinet demand to reach $17.3 billion in 2019

U.S. demand for cabinets is projected to grow 6.4 percent annually to $17.3 billion in 2019, spurred by continuing consumer interest in kitchen and bathroom renovation projects. Residential improvement and repair activity has been subdued since the 2007-2009 recession, but kitchen renovations and bathroom additions held up better than many other projects, as homeowners tried to improve their home’s appearance and to boost property values.

How will Fed rate hike affect housing?

The Federal Reserve’s increase in its benchmark short-term interest rate and future rate increases in the next few years will affect the U.S. economy in several ways. But if the increases are gradual, the affect on the U.S. housing market will not be large. Rates will increase on mortgages, but the Fed has emphasized that they will move gradually and in small increments, according to a report in USA Today.
