"Industry 4.0 is probably the most important opportunity for the world to improve efficiency and automation," said Biesse President and CEO Federico Broccoli at IWF 2016.  Broccoli, who refers to Industry 4.0 as the smart factory, says Biesse has been working to help small to medium sized woodworking operations achieve automation. He also said Biesse is working to make all components compatible with the Internet of Things, in which machines would provide feedback on how to improve efficiency to management.

Biesse Group reports revenue growth in North America during the first half of 2016 was 35.2 percent over the same period in 2015. Biesse says it anticipates good results at IWF 2016, where it's 17,000 square foot booth is 40 percent larger than last time.

Biesse will show its Stream A industrial edgebanding machine, that automates innovative, modern, ergonomic design is combined with productivity, efficiency and flexibility for the application of all types of edge-banding material.

The Biesse Group has been in existence for nearly half a century. The company employs about 3,200 people worldwide, with revenues at the end of 2015 of around 520 million Euros.

Technology supplier Biesse sponsored a factory tour for the Architectural Woodworking Institute Carolinas Chapter, taking the group on tour of Caldwell Cabinets and its Caseworx line of custom cabinetry launched earlier this year.

The order breakdown by business segment indicates that –as usual- the best performance came from the wood division (72.7%) compared to both the Glass/Stone segment (14.9%) and the Mechatronics segment (15.8%), says Biesse.

Wood manufacturing technology firm Biesse says it strengthened its partnership with Eurosoft. For the past two years, Eurosoft and Biesse have worked together on systems integration in North America. This deal formalizes that relationship.

Biesse Group celebrated the grand opening of its West Coast USA showroom and service center in Anaheim, CA, providing more support for customers in the region.
