AGC announces new construction stimulus plan

The Associated General Contractors of America has released a new national plan detailing measures to stimulate demand for construction. Officials said the plan was needed to reverse construction employment declines that have taken place in 317 out of 337 metro areas since January 2007.

Construction spending edges upward

ARLINGTON, VA -- Total construction spending increased by 0.7% in October, driven largely by growing demand for power projects and public construction. The Associated General Contractors of America chief economist expressed dismay over the report.
