Modern Woodcrafts, an architectural millwork company based in Plainville, was sold March 3 to a private firm, according to the mergers and acquisitions advisor who brokered the deal.

Express Kitchens, a manufacturer and distributor of kitchen cabinets in Connecticut and Massachusetts, has expanded its reach in the New York/New Jersey market by acquiring Direct Cabinet Sales, formerly owned by a private equity firm. This acquisition will include two additional companies: Golden Reiss Kitchens of Brooklyn NY and Seifer Kitchens of New Jersey. 

RH, which was formerly known as Restoration Hardware, has made two acquisitions as part of its ongoing brand transformation and strategy to be a leader in luxury.

Hickory Furniture Collective has acquired Old Hickory Furniture Company in Shelbyville, Ind. With this acquisition, Hickory Furniture Collective is now the largest maker of hickory furniture worldwide.

SALT LAKE CITY -- Pillar Machine, designer and developer of CNC woodworking machinery, CNC mortise and tenon miter machines, and CNC dowel inserting machines, has acquired Colorado-based Larick Machinery, a manufacturer of profile sanding and other equipment. In a statement, Pillar Machine said, "our culture has been built around the concept of sustainable progress. In recent years and speaking to our customers, many of our most satisfied clients have given us feedback that they wish we had more product offerings."

Mead Lumber Company has purchased Teague Lumber Company Inc. of Kansas City, Mo. Teague Lumber has served the Kansas City metro area as a full-service lumber yard and building material supplier for residential and light commercial new construction since 2002. The company has four locations in the Kansas City area: corporate office, including the millwork operation and a separate lumber yard in Grandview, Mo., as well as lumber yards in Liberty, Mo., and Bonner Springs, Kan.

TAL Holdings, a family-owned company that operates building material centers in the Pacific Northwest, has agreed to acquire Miller’s Home Center with four locations in Baker City and La Grande, Oregon, as well as a cabinet manufacturing facility and a truss production facility in Oregon.

Chicagoland luxury interior design firm and retailer Linly Designs has purchased California-based Marge Carson for an undisclosed amount.

The Spanish decor supplier will become IP Decor Spain.
