Lowe's earnings lower as Q2 sales flatten

Lowe’s Companies, Inc. (NYSE: LOW), the world’s second largest home improvement retailer, today reported net earnings of $830 million for the quarter ended July 29, 2011, essentially flat from the same period a year ago.

Herman Miller's net sales rise 37%

Herman Mille, Inc. (NASDAQ: MLHR) says fourth quarter North American sales rose over 40 percent. For the period ended May 28, 2011, the business furnishings manufacturer said overall net sales reached $441.5 million, an increase of 37.3 percent. Outside North America sales were up 27 percent.

  STATEMENT FOR NEWS CONFERENCE Friday June 3, 2011 Nashville, TN CSB Chairman Rafael Moure-Eraso and Johnnie Banks Good morning and welcome to our news conference. I am Rafael Moure-Eraso, Chairperson of the U.S. Chemical Safety Board, or CSB. We are here today to update the media and the public on the status of our ongoing investigation into the explosion and ensuing fire that occurred at the Hoeganaes facility on Friday, May 27 in Gallatin, Tennessee. Tragically, two workers died and a third was gravely injured.
