ripping long triangles from 8' lumber
Hi, folks. First-timer (and total woodworking newb here).
I have a 4" x 4" x 8' piece of lumber I'm trying to rip into eight 2" x 2" x (roughly) 2 3/4" x 8' triangles. Having trouble figuring out how to do this on a table saw.
First, I cut the lumber into four 2" x 2" x 8' long sections. Now I need to cut the 45 degree diagonal along each of those 2" x 2" pieces. This is the tricky part. I can set the table saw to 45 degrees, but I'd need to align the fence with a 0 degree offset, thus ensuring it would impact the blade. So, I can't do that. The only other options of which I can think are 1) use some sort of jig or; 2) do it by hand somehow.
Any thoughts on this?
Thanks!
