Remove Glued Crown from Armoire

Hello All -- I need help! My wife bought an armoire at an estate sale. It was a very good price for a Lexington piece, but -- guess what? The delivery company cannot get it out of the room! They've removed the feet and it still remains ~ 1 inch too tall because of a very tight corner to turn out the hallway. Ok, so I've tried to get customer service at Lexington to ask about assembly, to no avail. The piece has a very large crown molding at the top that if removed, solves our problem. However, this may be glued on -- I am going over shortly to inspect the crown and check if it's glued, nailed, screwed, or some combination thereof. So, working from the worst forward -- what would be the best way for me to remove the crown if it is glued. I can handle if screws or nails -- that is about the care I take, but the glue is another thing altogether. I suppose the right product if I can figure out what type of glue, and that's what I called Lexington about. Advice? Is there one product that will handle all glues? And, approach?
