Seamless CAD/CAM Integration with SolidWorks from Eurosoft Inc.

CARY, NC - Eurosoft, Inc. announces new enhancements to the integration between COBUS NCAD, powerful CAD/CAM software for door, window, cabinet and furniture manufacturers, and SolidWorks, the 3D design software from Dassault Systemes.

COBUS ConCept, a research and development partner with SolidWorks, has developed an interface with SolidWorks specifically designed to facilitate the addition of CNC programming to the existing 3D SolidWorks design. The exchange of data between the SolidWorks to COBUS NCAD is seamless, enabling routing, drilling, saw cuts and other CNC data to be automatically transferred to COBUS NCAD.

This integration process means that your normal design and machining processes do not have to change at all and COBUS NCAD remains machine neutral, allowing it to send the designs produced in SolidWorks in machine ready form to any CNC on the manufacturing floor.

Recent developments include: Support of splines, ovals and arches. Support of complex design elements such as lamello grooves and cup hinge bores using blocks. Enabling the configuration and assignments of sequences, definitions and tools to individual work steps. Contours can be broken into segments and/or re-joined. Addition of beveled and rounded edges.

A powerful unified solution from design concept all the way to the machine.
