Corded Impact Driver Compact Enough for Tight Work AreasTOWSON, MD – Porter-Cable launched a compact, lightweight ¼-inch corded impact driver, the PCE201, that has the ergonomics and feel of a battery driver but the ability to deliver continuous fastening shots for tradesmen who complete numerous fastening applications in challenging workplaces.

“Users have expressed satisfaction with the performance of their cordless impact drivers,” said Mike Peiffer, product manager for Porter-Cable, but "complain that they must constantly re-charge their batteries."

Becauwe it plugs in, the PCE201requires no re-charging time.

Porter-Cable’s compact impact driver features a 4.3-amp motor that delivers the power to complete tough applications with 3,500 beats per minute. A metal gear housing helps dissipate heat build up caused by the impacting mechanism. Equipped with a variable speed trigger and reversing unit, the PCE201 impact driver provides up to 2,900 rpm.

Compact enough to fit in small spaces, the PCE201 impact driver is compact enough to use overhead or horizontally. Other professional-friendly features include an electric brake, ¼-inch hex chuck and external brushes for servicing.

The electric brake provides control and helps to prevent the common problem of overdriving fasteners. The ¼-inch hex quick-change chuck allows for quicker accessory changes. A belt hook can be attached on either side of the tool, depending on the preference of the user.

Available  at Lowe’s and independent distributors, the PCE201 retails for about $89.97.
