SAN FRANCISCO - Samir Shah of Seattle-based 4 AXYZ will highlight the advancements in 3D wood printing at Designers of Things 2014 set for Sept. 23-24 in San Francisco.
Shah will discuss digital fabrication and how it can add dimension and style to 3D crafted wood objects. In addition, 4 AXYZ can embed electronics, sensors and conductive metals inside additively manufactured wood objects during the manufacturing process. This would allow manufactured wood to be linked to Internet applications, such as having wall studs embedded with electronics that can detect and eliminate mold inside the walls.
Designers of Things is a new conference produced by UBM Tech dedicated to accelerating the design, development and business of Wearable Tech, 3D Printing and the Internet of Things. The event will take place at San Francisco's Mission Bay Conference Center. For more information and to take advantage of early-bird registration prices by June 27, visit designersofthings.com.
Other scheduled conference presenters include Nick Warnock of Wellograph Inc., who will talk about wearable technology, and Jen Costillo of Rebelbot, who will discuss the security gaps in wearable technology. Karl D.D. Willis of Autodesk will discuss the latest developments around InfraStructs, material-based passive tags that embed machine-readable information in the interior of physical objects.
