Okamura Chooses Bio-Based Powder Coating for Office Furniture WILMINGTON, DE - Okamura, manufacturer of wood veneer and melamine surface office furniture, has partnered with DuPont Tate & Lyle Bio Products to launch a line of furniture products coated with Susterra, a 100% bio-based powder coating certified by the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

Susterra features l,3-propanediol, an ingredient with a biomass mark from the Japan Organic Recycling Association (JORA).

Lirys Crawford, market development manager of DuPont Tate & Lyle Bio Products, says Susterra offers high performance and high sustainability in coating applications.

“Making efforts to reduce our environmental impact is an extremely important business challenge,” said Masayuki Nakamura, president of Okamura. “We are excited to partner with DuPont Tate & Lyle to introduce renewable and more sustainable content to customers seeking high-quality office furniture.”
