DULUTH, GA - Scm Group North America opened its doors and pulled back the curtain on the Accord 30 fx solid wood machining center, during  Technology Days – Windows, Doors, and Stairs, April 4 - 5, 2013.

Dozens attended the two-day technology presentation, many coming specifically to see the Accord 30 fx. It's ability to machine dimensional wood products was demonstrated live, and covered in seminars detailing programming processes and the integration of software to drive the CNC machine's operations. Tooling performance and requirements were also covered.

Scm Group says it likes to roll out technologies as they are introduced, and apply technology advances to its machines as rapidly as possible. For example, tomorrow Scm Group's parent, based in Rimini, Italy, will exhibit for the first time at the Milan Furniture Show, demonstrating inventive furniture styles (inset photo) to designers, styles that are made more practical with the use of high tech CNC equiment.

And at LIGNA next month in Hannover, Germany, SCM will show machining centers, including a wndow machining system that can operate unsupervised; and small format machining centers geared to custom woodwork shops.
