Koetter Woodworking Named 2013 WMIA Innovator of the Year

Koetter Woodworking Named 2013 WMIA Innovator of the YearKoetter Woodworking has been awarded the 2013 Wooden Globe for Innovator of the Year by the Woodworking Machinery Industry Association. The award is presented to a company that manufactures an innovative product or uses an innovative process to produce a wood-based product using high-technology machinery supplied by one or more WMIA member companies.

Borden, IN-based Koetter Woodworking produces mouldings, millwork, doors and more at its 641,000-square-foot plant. At the award presentation, the company cited its consolidation of operations, investments in technologies and employee training that allowed it to reduce inventories and labor, while cutting lead times on orders in half. “It helped us get through slow times and it will help us grow now that business is improving,” said Brian Koetter, vice president of sales and marketing.
