EIGHTY FOUR, Pa. — Forbes and Statista selected America's Best Employers 2025 through an independent survey from a vast sample of over 217,000 U.S. employees working for companies employing at least 1,000 people within the U.S. Over 6.5 million employer evaluations were considered. The final score is based on two types of evaluations: personal (those given by employees themselves) and public (those given by friends and family members of employees, or members of the public who work in the same industry), with a much higher weighting for personal evaluations. More than 6.5 million employer evaluations were considered.

84 Lumber has made the list, ranking 34th in the Engineering & Manufacturing sector and #687 overall. The nation's largest privately held supplier of building materials is among the 701 companies awarded the distinction after a thorough survey and review.

"At 84 Lumber, our success is built on the dedication and hard work of our associates, and being named to Forbes' America's Best Large Employers 2025 list is another testament to that," said 84 Lumber owner and CEO Maggie Hardy. "Our company is a place where people learn and grow together. This recognition belongs to every associate at 84 Lumber."

84 Lumber last received Forbes' Best Employer recognition in 2019, 2017, and 2016.

Forbes ranked Marvin as No. 19 on its list of Best Large Employers of 2024. This year, the company was ranked #5 in the sector and 151 overall.

"We are honored by this recognition, which reflects a powerful truth at Marvin: it’s essential that people and culture come first," said Paul Marvin, CEO of Marvin. "Our most important investments are those we make in service of the well-being of Marvin employees, which in turn allows us to best deliver for our customers and partners. We’re grateful for the opportunity to celebrate the significance of that commitment.”

Sherwin-Williams Co., a manufacturer of paint and coatings, made #21 in the Engineering sector, and 444 overall. The company also ranked #120 in Forbes' Most Trusted Companies in America list in 2025.

The list was announced on February 12, 2025, and is presented by both Forbes and Statista Inc., a statistics portal and industry ranking provider.
