ATLANTA -- The WoodLINKS educational advancement organization presented its annual awards during the 2010 International Woodworking Fair (IWF).
Mark Smith, executive director of WoodLINKS, presented the awards to four recipients in three categories: Educator of the Year, Industry Partner of the Year, and the Hilchie Award for special support to the woodworking industry in the area of educational advancement.
Educator of the Year was given to Robert Sutter, whose program swelled from 12 to 100 students under his direction.
WoodLINKS Industry Partner of the Year was given to two firms that have been very supportive of the program: ShopBotTools and WalzCraft.
The Hilchie Award was given to Jerry Finch, the now retired professor at Fox Valley College, acknowledging his special service and support of the WoodLINKS program and industry education in general.
