The Wood Pro Expo Lancaster exhibit floor has been expanded by 20 percent to accommodate more woodworking machinery and supply vendors.

“Don’t miss Wood Pro Expo!”

That’s the bottom-line advice Lewis Goldman offers to all professional woodworkers located within driving range of Lancaster, Pa., home of Wood Pro Expo. The expanded regional event takes place Oct. 17 and 18 at the Warehouse at the Nook.

“Too often woodworkers miss out on an opportunity like this show because something suddenly comes up at their shop,” said Goldman, managing partner of Wood Pro Expo Lancaster. “Usually it’s a small issue that can wait. But they’re not really thinking about how much they are missing by failing to attend. If you’re serious about wanting to make your business more successful then Wood Pro Expo is something not to be missed.”

Wood Pro Expo is returning to Lancaster County and building on the success of last year’s show. The exhibit floor has been expanded by 20 percent to accommodate more woodworking machinery and supply vendors. The education program, anchored each day by free morning keynote presentations by popular FDMC personalities, has also been expanded.

“Even in this era of the Internet, professional trade shows and especially regional trade shows like Wood Pro Expo play an important role in B2B commerce,” Goldman said. “When you think back to what trade shows are all about, you see that they are really an evolution from the days of the earliest peddlers. They would go from town to town, not only bringing new products and innovations to villagers, but also news about what’s going on and trends.

“Trade shows and especially this trade show does exactly that. We come to Lancaster, Pa., and bring not only a great cast of industry manufacturers and distributors, but also the latest innovations. Professional woodworkers can get answers to their questions in real time and touch and see what’s trending in machinery, panels, hardware, finishing materials and much more. They can connect with new sources of supply and find the best bargains. I think spending a few hours away from the shop to attend this show offers a big payoff for a small investment. It will help them advance their wood product businesses and careers.”

Show highlights galore
Wood Pro Expo Lancaster’s agenda is chalked full of special features designed to impart knowledge and stir the creative juices of the woodworkers who attend.

The many highlights include:

Free morning keynote presentations. FDMC Editor Will Sampson will present “The Path to Professionalism,” Thursday, Oct. 17, and Dr. Eugene Wengert, aka The Wood Doctor, will talk about “Controlling Your Future,” Friday, Oct. 18.  Complimentary coffee and donuts will be provided at each of these presentations scheduled to begin at 8:00 a.m.; the expo hall opens at 9 a.m. each day.

More learning opportunities. Other educational seminar programs on tap at Wood Pro Expo include sessions on job costing, running a two-man shop, finishing trends and eliminating wood moisture content problems. See full seminar schedule for dates, times and details.

Running Machine Program. Back by popular demand, the Running Machine Program will feature demonstrations by Felder, INMES, New CNC and RT Machine. “This is part of our education program and is free to all attendees,” Goldman said. “These interactive demonstrations will take place on each day of the show. It’s a tremendous opportunity for woodworkers to see new technology in action and ask questions to learn how these machines could add value to their businesses.”

More than 60 exhibitors of machines and supplies. “Throughout each day, other companies will be operating machines under power as well,” Goldman said. “We also have a full array of lumber, hardware, finishing supplies, tooling, software and other products. Wood Pro Expo has everything represented to support wood product manufacturing.” See current exhibitor list and floor plan.

Plant tours. The Cabinet Makers Association (CMA) is once again organizing tours of local woodworking shops. The plant tour event will take place Wednesday, Oct. 16, the day before Wood Pro Expo begins.

Free expo hall admission. “Every exhibitor at our show has a unique promo code that they can give to their customers to get into the exhibit hall for free. If you haven’t received a code from one of your suppliers, don’t be shy. Reach out to your favorite vendor who is exhibiting and request a code. It will save you $25.”
