ST. AUGUSTINE, Fl. - Rulon International, a manufacturer of wood ceilings and acoustic wooden walls, has been turning its scrapwood into toy guitars for sick kids since 2016.

"Many children that have been dealing with life threatening illnesses face continuous days of struggling with adversity," the company says. "In the hopes of adding just a little bit of joy, Rulon has committed to making wooden box guitars to be distributed to these children."

Guitars come in five different shapes and styles, and come either pre-decorated, raw or with a base-coat, or in a single solid color. Guitar handles are microbial and germ-free. Rulon includes stickers and decals so kids can decorate their guitars how they want.

Many guitars are sent to orphanages, hospitals, and illness-camps around the world. Rulon is more than halfway toward meeting its goal of making 10,000 guitars.

Guitars are made at the company's Florida manufacturing plant. All materials are recycled, including the paint.

The company has worked with non-profits to best distribute the guitars. Many orphanages and hospitals have requested the company send unfinished guitars, as children wished to paint and decorate the guitars themselves and then give them to other kids.

Rulon International has been manufacturing wood ceilings and acoustical wood walls for over 30 years.
