Woman steals $13K from employer's lumberyard

SOUTHAMPTON, Penn. - A woman employee is facing criminal charges after police say she stole more than $13,000 from her employer, Strathmann Lumber.
 
Kimberly Ann McDowell, 49, was taken into custody on an arrest warrant last week. McDowell is accused of making over 900 fraudulent transactions - coming to a total of more than $13,000. She made all of the transactions since 2014, the year she began working for Strathmann.
 
McDowell faces nearly 3,000 counts of various charges, which include theft by deception, receiving stolen property, and an unlawful use of a computer, reports Upper Southampton Patch. She faces a preliminary hearing September 6.
