WMMA Publishes ANSI O1.1 Checklist

PHILADELPHIA, PA -- The Wood Machinery Manufacturers of America (WMMA), a professional trade association composed of U.S. manufacturers of woodworking equipment, cutting tools and supplies, has published the WMMA Checklist for ANSI O1.1 Compliance. According to the WMMA, the guide is to be used as an aid when designing and manufacturing woodworking machines.

“As designers and manufacturers of machinery, we strive to make our products as safe as possible for the end user,” said WMMA President Jim Laster. “The ANSI O1.1 2004 standard seeks to clarify the responsibilities for the manufacturer, re-manufacturer and end user of industrial woodworking machinery.  With each member in this chain complying with the intent of this standard and good safety practice, we all gain a safer workplace.”

Printed copies of the ANSI O1.1 Checklist are available to WMMA members for $50 each.  Non-members may order printed or electronic copies for $75 and educators may order copies for $35 each. To purchase a printed version, contact Karen Boyle at WMMA Headquarters, 215-564-3484 x2238 or [email protected], for an order form. The WMMA said the Checklist is not a substitute for the actual Standard, nor is it responsible for any interpretation unintentionally implied by the Checklist.
