WalzCraft Industries Receives Environmental Award
ATLANTA, GA — WalzCraft Industries Inc. of LaCrosse, WI, received the 2006 Gifford Pinchot Award from The Hardwood Forestry Fund (HFF) at the 2006 International Woodworking Fair. The Gifford Pinchot Award recognizes the significant achievements of a forest products company in promoting sustainable hardwood forests. According to Bill Altman, president of the Hardwood Plywood & Veneer Assn. and a member of the HFF board, this is not an annual award and is only the second time it has been presented. Rick Philipps, HFF volunteer president and CEO of Woodland Face Veneer LLC, said that since 1997, WalzCraft has planted nearly 181,000 new hardwood tree seedlings, which made the company “an easy and unanimous choice†for the award.
