CHICAGO - Machinio.com, which claims to be the fastest-growing used machinery website in the world,says it launched new websites focused on the European used machinery market: Machinio.DE, Machinio.FR, Machinio.NL, Machinio.IT, and Machinio.ES, using the urls for Germany, France, Netherlands, Italy and Spain.
The metasite combs other websites selling used equipment to organize and present the results. A search for "woodworking" at the site brings up over 8,000 listings, including a laminating line, moulder, and clamping systems. A woodworking page has dozens of major brands of equipment.
Machinio has plenty of competition, in addition to auction houses, such as TradeMachines, a search engine for used equipment that lists more than 1.4 million used machines, including about 30,000 items of woodworking machinery.
Major new woodworking equipment manufacturers have established relationships with refurbished equipment sellers. Another player, FerWood, recently established U.S. operations in Florida.
Revenue, web traffic, and buyer requests on Machinio.com have tripled in the past year, Machinio says, and Ritchie Brothers, the world’s largest equipment auctioneer, led an investment of $3M into Machinio earlier this year. The Chicago-based Machinio says it plans to open a European headquarters in Berlin in 2017.

Machinio lists over one million used machines for sale, from agriculture and construction equipment, to metalworking and printing, attracting over 500,000 unique buyers every month. With its expansion into Europe, Machinio is also growing their European sales team as well, hiring multiple staff members across the continent to generate new business and manage accounts.
