U.S. Cabinet Depot to open warehouse in Virginia

MacKenzie Investment Group signed a lease with Georgia-based U.S. Cabinet Depot for 194,000 square feet of space in the second of two buildings it’s developed at North Richmond Industrial Park, according to RichondBIZ. The development is a 75-acre park near Ashland’s southern boundary that’s planned to total 550,000 square feet.

According to the company's Facebook page, the facility is U.S. Cabinet Depot's 8th warehouse and it is set to open in the Fall 2024, "marking another milestone in our expansion across the East Coast."

The cabinets supplier will fill part of a nearly 316,000-square-foot building that will make up the second phase of the park. The one-story building at 12063 Washington Highway adds to a 202,000-square-foot warehouse that was completed in 2022, according to the site. That initial building, at 11060 Johnson Road, was filled by Home Depot, Sentara Healthcare and flooring and countertops distributor MS International.

The announcement states that U.S. Cabinet plans to use the space as an East Coast distribution and logistics center and employ 60 people at the site. The company also has distribution centers in Georgia, Florida, Massachusetts, Illinois, Texas, Utah and California, with further expansion planned.

Constructed on spec, the Washington Highway building is a cross-docked distribution warehouse with 36-foot-high ceilings, 78 dock doors and four drive-in docks. The surrounding parking lot includes spaces for 240 cars and over 100 trailers.

The park site is about 20 miles north of Richmond and has nearby access to Interstate 95.

The larger building fills a 31-acre parcel that MacKenzie acquired through an LLC in March 2023. The land was previously owned by EC Real Estate LLC, an entity tied to Charlottesville-based concrete contractor Eagle Corp.
