Megan Offner and her partners at New York Heartwoods began by managing woodlots and harvesting dying trees for lumber, live edge slabs and custom wood products for woodworkers and designers. But Offner says the Warwick, NJ lumber yard soon scratched that plan, using another pentiful resource: fallen trees.
