Treated lumber seller expands into 54,000-sq-ft plant

MUSCLE SHOALS, Ala. - Lumber treater United Treating & Distribution (UTD) has expanded its manufacturing and distribution plant in Muscle Shoals, Alabama, adding an adjacent 54,000-square-foot building and 5.5 acres to its property.
 
The expansion will provide UTD with the capacity to carry more inventory and new product lines.
 
Starting off in 2006, UTD provides treated and untreated lumber to retail lumberyards, portable barn builders, decking pros, fencing pros, utility trailer manufacturers, specialized industrial suppliers, and contracting groups. The company employs over 50 employees and retains more than 350 customers in 18 states.
 
The company says it could hire more employees soon.
