ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - Florida-based Tibbetts Lumber Co. is acquiring fellow roof and truss manufacturer Florida Forest Products.

“Florida Forest Products’ team and facility are highly complementary to our existing metro Tampa/St. Petersburg operations and we have many overlapping customers within various product segments,” said Kyle Hooker, owner of Tibbetts Lumber. “Florida Forest Products gives us a very geographically strategic footprint to complement our Central Florida truss production, and Rick’s team is experienced, well-disciplined, and respected in the marketplace. This is an exciting first acquisition for us.”

“I’m excited that Tibbetts Lumber shares our business philosophy and will continue the high level of product quality and customer service that we have provided to our customers for many years," said Florida Forest owner Rick Cashman.

After the acquisition, Tibbets will see its footprint increase to seven Florida locations. Tibbets provides Florida builders with roof and floor trusses, lumber, building materials, doors, millwork, windows, and siding.

Florida Forest began as a wood pulp brokerage in 1954 before moving into the lumber business in 1969.
