Thermo Fisher Mulls Closing Wood Lab Furniture PlantTWO RIVERS, WI -- The fate of Thermo Fisher Scientific's wood laboratory furniture plant remains up in the air.

Thermo Fisher of Waltham, MA, announced in September that it would close its steel lab fabrication plant in Two Rivers and move those operations to one of its plants in Reynosa, Mexico.

Thermo Fisher is considering whether or not to close its wood lab plant that employs approximately 400 people, according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. The company reportedly will make a decision by the end of the year.

Thermo Fisher's plants date back 130 years. Closing the stell plant cost about 130 people their jobs.

An international manufacturer of products for the pharmaceutical and biotech industries with annual sales of $11 billion,Thermo Fisher employs approximately 37,000 people worldwide. Thermo Fisher recently reported that its third quarter revenues grew 13% to a record $2.97 billion.
