MILLERSBURG, Ohio - Solid wood furniture manufacturer Superior Furniture will build a new 10,000-square-foot building in Ohio, allowing it to consolidate operations.
The building will replace a 3,500-square-foot shop currently being leased by the Amish-run Superior, who primarily makes case goods and bedroom and dining furniture. With construction scheduled for May, the facility will be ready for operation by the end of October.
The plant will produce office furniture and occasional furniture from solid cherry, walnut, hickory, and quarter-sawn white oak.
It will also produce some furniture under a quick-ship program, in which products can be shipped in just two weeks from the time of order, reports Furniture Today. Products not in the quick-ship program will be shipped in about six weeks.
Quick-ship products include a bedroom line made from solid brown maple and rustic cherry. Dining products will include several leg, top, and edge options.
Superior Furniture began in 2005. Manufacturing is spread out through more than 10 woodshops. All are located within 45 minutes of the company's main plant in Millersburg.
