BRAMPTON, Ontario – Loblaw Companies Ltd. issued a recall for President’s Choice Beefless Undeniable Burgers after pieces of wood were found in some of the patties.

In the recall notice, the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) said the vegan plant-based burgers represented a Class 2 moderate risk to consumers.

CFIA told Toronto CityNews that the products should be thrown out or returned to the store where they were purchased. The agency added, “There are no known injuries related to the product at this time.”

The President’s Choice website lists the ingredients of the “100% pea protein” burgers. Wood pieces are not among them.
