Serenity Offers Sound-Rated Wood Doors With Aluminum FramesNEW HAVEN, CONN - Assa Abloy, Group Brands, Frameworks, Graham, and Maiman have teamed up to launch Serenity. Under the new name, the group will manufacture sound-rated wood doors with aluminum frames.

The sound-rated opening systems merge both aesthetics and acoustics to create a solution designed for schools, healing environments, and various sound attenuation applications that require a decorative design.

Available in sizes up to 9ft, the opening systems feature PEMKO seal kits and have been acoustically tested together to achieve a Sound Transmission Class rating of 35 per ASTM E90—the standard test method for laboratory measurement of airborne sound transmission loss of building partitions and elements—and ASTM E413—classification for rating sound insulation.

The Serenity opening features a Frameworks Type II aluminum frame and is customizable with various wood door options including any commercially available veneer and a 20-minute fire rating, available from Graham and Maiman.
