Seminars included at Fall NexGen
NexGen announces fall woodworking technology event
NORTH CAROLINA -- Held Oct. 5-7 in North Carolina, the Fall NexGen Event offered visitors one-on-one opportunities for learning about new manufacturing techniques. New to the event were evening education seminars and receptions.

Tuesday’s presenter, Steve Walker of The Furniture Manufacturing and Management Center at NC State University, discussed the benefits and challenges of lean manufacturing for the home furnishings industry. On Wednesday, Paul Hoffman, manager of Sustainable Strategies for Choate Construction, talked about the LEED Rating System. Thursday’s presentation was given by Brandon Uttley, on social media and its implications for business.

Plans are underway for another event in the first quarter of 2011.
