MEDINA, Minn. -- Rockler Woodworking and Hardware stores nationwide will host pen turning classes to benefit veterans on Saturday, November 9. Participants can turn their own pen and Rockler will donate 100 percent of the proceeds from the classes to the National Veterans Foundation.

The classes will be offered at four times throughout the day, with start times of 9:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m., 1:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. Because pen turning is relatively simple, the class is ideal for any skill level, including participants with little to no prior woodworking experience. Store staff will be on hand to answer questions and offer assistance. Each participant will leave with a completed pen, and their entire $10 enrollment fee will be donated to the National Veterans Foundation.

All 37 Rockler stores across the country will offer the pen turning classes on November 9. Class size will be limited to six participants per session. Attendees under the age of 18 need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian, and 14 is the minimum age requirement to use power tools. Registration for the pen turning classes can be found at http://www.rockler.com/makeandtake
