ROCKLIN, CA - Woodworking supplies retailer Rockler Companies is opening another large store, this time in Rocklin, CA, near Sacramento. The 8,000 square foot store is expected to open in October.
Rockler began testing new, larger retail stores in 2013, opening prototype flagship stores in Minnesota, where it is headquartered, and in Washington State.

Rockler Prototype Store

Rockler has begun opening larger retail stores to provide more of an experience for woodworkers

Of company-owned Rockler Woodworking and Hardware stores in 19 states, Rockler grew its store site in Maplewood, MN to 11,000 square feet, and in Seattle to 9,000 square feet, about double the size of the company's typical store. Both those stores incorporate a large, state-of-the-art, glass-enclosed demonstration area.

Last year Rockler opened a 10,000 square-foot shop, relocating its existing Sandy Springs, GA, store to a new site down the road. Rockler says its research indicated customers want more of an experience in its stores.
